Toyota is among the global leaders and the top players in the automobile industry. Following Tesla, it is the second largest player in the automobile sector based on market capitalization. However, based on vehicle production and sales, it is the largest player in the global automobile industry with the Volkswagen group of Germany as its closest rival.

Toyota is well known for several things including its focus on engineering and innovation, its competence in producing vehicles including electrified models, and the long lifespan of Toyota vehicles.
